This book has erroneous information throughout, from the title where it promises to “guarantee” the sex of a baby to the chapters where it glosses over the sex selection procedures and makes them sound much easier and less costly than they really are. Plus there are errors about the science behind the technology. If people buy this book and invest in this technology, understand that gender selection is much harder, more emotionally draining, and a lot more frustrating, not to mention expensive, than the author asserts. I thought it was a well written book. It started with the history of sex selection, making it interesting rather than boring, and jumped quickly into all the at home methods and finally ending with the high tech methods. But what I really liked was how she made it seem very personable by talking to families who had made a variety of decisions, so it wasn’t just one person’s account of science or personal history. It also wasn’t all positive about one method or negative about another method. I think that the author really gave you the space to make a decision that worked for your family. I’m happy to say that the method we chose worked for us! I’ll be using this book again in the future and recommending it to my friends.

Having no previous experience with sex selection techniques, I found this book to be very helpful. The language used was clear and vivid and allowed full explanations of the different methods of sex selection. After reading this book I feel confident that I have the knowledge to pick the technique that is right for us. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in learning more about the sex selection options available.
